The peril of being caught and executed is constant. The man has sex with his wife, with quick glimpses of male and female nudity. A woman is raped by a soldier, who is killed in the act. WebShot 99.9% INSIDE the trench to convey the sense of claustrophobia. It works. You can almost smell the trench. I personally think that the low budget style produced a happy bi-product rather than it being planned.
